When You Ride Alone You Ride with Hitler- 1943 - by Weimer Pursell
I’m not so sure this kind of ad would work now which leads me to wonder if people would have thought it was a bit far fetched, over simplified, or right on target back in 1943. Any one have insight from those who remember the 40′s or who have family stories regarding these kind of WWII Ad Council posters? Has anyone encountered similar messages in the past couple of years?
Bill Maher wrote the book “When you ride alone, you ride with Bin Laden” a few years ago and he used that bit of WWII propaganda (and others) as inspiration.

I saw that, I should snag it from the library. I’m kind of surprised there hasn’t been a larger (visually communicated) push to change our gas guzzling culture in the last 6-8 years. Not only is there an argument that we’re supporting terrorism with our dependency on oil but there’s a wealth of science, knowledge, culture and support surrounding conservation/eco-friendly/sustainable living/cradle-to-cradle/environmental change etc.
