The City Awareness Design Project | CitID

The idea is simple, “Honour your city” through the creation of art. CitID’s goal is to have all continents (check), countries, capitals and cities represented…annnd to create of book of submitted designs. If warning bells were sounding at the thought of your hard work making a profit for someone else, consider that full credit, recognition, contact info and website links will be given to artists, in addition to maintaining the artists’ right to reproduce and distribute that art in any way (the latter being nearly unheard of and highly admirable). The result includes some diverse, well designed and lovely art, as well as some…ummm, let’s just be nice and call them unique design approaches.

Here is one of three Portland, Oregon representations and yes, all three include rain in the design (not terribly surprising). This piece is by David Zack Custer / HandGun. You can find all of the entries here at citid.net.
